Native app versus browser tab
A web invoicing platform needs a connection for everything, including reading an invoice you wrote yourself. A native app holds the records locally and opens instantly.
It also means no session timeouts, no sign-in on a Monday morning, and no dependency on a vendor's uptime to send a document you have already prepared.
Where the data lives, and how it leaves
QuoteLocal stores business records on the Mac by default. Optional Pro sync uses your private Apple iCloud container so an invoice written on the Mac reaches the iPhone without passing through a vendor database.
Backups are password-protected AES-256 files. Pro adds CSV export, so handing figures to an accountant does not require a vendor's export tool or a support ticket.
What it does not try to be
QuoteLocal is not accounting software. It does not reconcile bank feeds, file returns or compute your tax position, and it is not legal, tax or accounting advice.
It does not process payments or take a percentage. You add your own payment instructions and record what arrives.
